Und noch ein neues, langes Interview zum Witcher:
Teil 1
Teil 2
Teil 3
Auszüge:
"HCG: Which RPGs gave the inspiration to make The Witcher? What are your favorite role playing games?
CDPR: We'd much rather see our game in the line with productions of a great storyline like Baldur's Gate (epically drawn plotline) or Planescape: Torment (extraordinary protagonist and his mystery). We ourselves would probable be the closest to calling The Witcher a 'medieval' version of Fallout, mainly due to two similarities - nonlinearity and mature world full of violence and eroticism."
"HCG: What kind of world does the game take place in? Please introduce it!
It's most visible discernible elements are it's maturity, with the complete lack of abstract good vs. evil juxtaposition. In the world of the Witcher nothing is "black or white", and the hero can merely chose one of the different evils (one of Sapkowski's tales is entitled "The lesser evil"). The world is also mature as far as character's motivations and psychology are concerned - they have ordinary human needs, passions and feelings (even if they happen to be elves or vampires), which makes the scenery - though fantastic and imaginary - seem very authentic and feasible."
